Company Sets Broadway Closing Date

Phone rings, door chimes, say farewell to company!

The Tony Award-winning Broadway transfer Company will ends it run at Bernard B Jacobs Theatre on 31 July. The Stephen Sondheim revival will have played 268 regular performances and 32 previews upon closing.

The news comes as quite a surprise as Company received the most Tony awards this season for a musical, with five awards under their belt - including Best Musical Revival, Best Featured Actress in a Musical, Best Featured Actor in a Musical, Best Director of a Musical and Best Scenic Design of a Musical.

The musical stars Tony Award winners Katrina Lenk and Patti LuPone, so make sure you don't miss the chance to see Company on Broadway!

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Bobbi (traditionally Robert up till now) is celebrating her 35th birthday in the company of her friends, all of whom are either married or engaged. Through a series of visits with the couples we learn that the well-liked Bobbi has trouble with commitment as evidenced in her numerous affairs, but still hopes to find the right person for her. As each group has its say on Bobbi's singledom and marriage prospects (and state of their own), Company begins to question the old adage; is the grass really greener on the other side?
