Rupert Grint Is Heading Back To Hogwarts!

Kevin, August 27th, 2026

The actor will reprise his role as Ron Weasley on Broadway.

He may not have been as famous as Harry or as smart as Hermione, but Ron Weasley sure knew how to make us laugh. Now, Rupert Grint, who played Ron across all eight Harry Potter films, is set for a magical return to the Wizarding World, heading to Broadway's Lyric Theatre from 2 February to 30 May 2027.

Grint will follow in the footsteps of his former Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton, who recently took on the role of Draco Malfoy in Cursed Child. Felton's extended run will conclude on 3 January 2027, meaning the Malfoy and Weasley families will have just enough time for one final Broadway crossover. Wicked!

About Rupert Grint In Harry Potter

Grint said in a statement: "Ron Weasley has been a part of me since I was 11 years old and I can't wait to meet him again at this stage of life. There is something so full-circle and so special about stepping back into Ron's shoes now when we are both fathers; it is somehow both very familiar and completely new."

The actor also revealed that he was blown away when he first saw Cursed Child on stage, adding that he is "overjoyed" to join the production's cast and crew.

And this isn't Grint's first trip to the Great White Way. He made his Broadway debut in It's Only a Play, appearing alongside Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane, while his West End debut came in Jez Butterworth's Mojo, opposite Ben Whishaw.
