Teri Hatcher To Star As Miranda Priestley!
From Wisteria Lane to the West End
The West End is getting ready for a new queen of Runway magazine! Golden Globe-winning actor Teri Hatcher is set to take over the role of Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical.
Hatcher will make her debut as the famously fearsome fashion editor at the Dominion Theatre on 20 October 2026, following Vanessa Williams' final performance on 19 September. But there's a little fashion-forward gap to fill first, with Debbie Kurup taking over the role from Williams until Hatcher arrives.
Best known for starring as Susan Mayer in Desperate Housewives and Lois Lane in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Hatcher isn't exactly a stranger to the stage. She made her musical theatre debut as Sally Bowles in a national tour of Sam Mendes' Cabaret revival before going on to play Morticia Addams in The Addams Family.
That's all...
Based on Lauren Weisberger's bestselling 2003 novel and the iconic 2006 film, The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical follows aspiring journalist Andy Sachs as she lands a job at Runway magazine- and finds herself working for the impossibly demanding Miranda Priestly.
With music by Elton John, direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, and a book by Kate Wetherhead, the musical first premiered at Theatre Royal Plymouth in 2024 before transferring to London's Dominion Theatre.
The West End production opened in December 2024 and has already sold more than 1.2 million tickets, with its 800th performance coming up on 23 September.
