Six Is Saying Farewell To Broadway
Long live the Queens!
It's the end of an era on Broadway! After more than 2,000 performances, Six has announced that it will play its final performance at the Lena Horne Theatre on 3 January 2027.
The Tudor Queens may have arrived on Broadway to rewrite history, but after 2,178 performances, their reign is finally coming to an end. And what a reign it has been!
Broadway Royalty
Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, Six began Broadway performances in 2020, with its original opening night scheduled for 12 March - the very day the COVID-19 shutdown brought Broadway to a close.
When theatres finally reopened, Six made history as the first new musical to open on Broadway after the shutdown, with its original cast of Adrianna Hicks, Andrea Macasaet, Abby Mueller, Brittney Mack, Samantha Pauly and Anna Uzele ruling the stage.
A Royal Run
The show has certainly earned its crown. Six is the longest-running show in the history of the Lena Horne Theatre and currently ranks as the 40th-longest-running show in Broadway history! It's also the seventh-longest-running Broadway show to have originated in the UK.
The musical picked up two major awards in 2022, winning the Tony Award for Best Original Score and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Broadway Musical.
Who Runs The World? Queens!
The current Broadway Queens - Natalie Paris, Khaila Wilcoxon, Chloe Tucker Caine, Olivia Donalson, Stephanie Jae Park and Aimie Atkinson - will continue to star until the final performance.
Of course, Six isn't disappearing completely. A filmed version featuring Paris, Atkinson and the rest of the original West End cast is available internationally. So, while Broadway is preparing to say goodbye, goodbye, goodbye to its Queens, there's no denying these six women certainly gave Henry a run for his money.
