Lin-Manuel Miranda’s 'Warriors' Comes to Broadway
The Warriors Come To Out To Play in Spring 2027
Making its Broadway debut, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis' Warriors musical will be arriving at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in spring next year. The new show is set to open in April, with previews for the production in March.
Warriors is based on the cult classic 1979 film The Warriors' directed by Walter Hill. Similar to the original, Warrior follows the members of a fictional New York gang, who after being framed for the murder of a highly respected gang leader, have to flee and fight its way home to Coney Island. On their treacherous journey they find themselves in violent conflicts with opposing gangs.
This new Broadway show is built around the 2024 concept album by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis entitled Warriors'. This 2024 album was heavily hip-hop, rap and R&B influenced, containing features from legends such as Busta Rhymes, RZA, Lauryn Hill, Nas and actor Colman Domingo.
Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis have released the following statement:

"Musicalizing such a vibrant world for the concept album has been a thrill, and now we're coming out to play on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne. We can't wait."
Warriors will be directed by Jenny Koons with casting yet to be announced.
