Rodgers and Hart's I Married an Angel is one such example, bringing together a comedy of manners and extended dance sequencers choreographed by the New York City Ballet great George Balanchine.

The New York City Center was Manhattan's first performing arts center and now accommodates many performing arts companies, such as City Center's Principal Dance Company and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. It also hosts many other national and international artists. The company hosts a variety of workshops that are popular with families, seniors and schools. The New York City Center's Mainstage has 2,257 seats.
