Performance Venues in New York
Metropolitan Opera House
Lincoln Center, 70 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023
Metropolitan Opera House is part of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts complex.
As part of the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts, this venue dedicated to ballet and opera first opened in 1966, replacing the original Metropolitan Opera House that opened in 1883 on Broadway, but was too small for advancing technology and stagecraft. It has a total of 4,000 seats, making it the largest purpose-built opera house in the world.
The shows featured have been announced as coming soon to Broadway, but are still waiting on venue confirmation. Click here to sign up to our mailing list to keep updated on their progress!
David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center
Lincoln Center, 10 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023
David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center is part of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts complex.
David Geffen Hall is a concert hall located inside the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts complex on Manhattan's Upper West Side, New York City. The venue was opened in 1962 and has a seating capacity of 2,738. It is the home of the New York Philharmonic, and is used for many different events, including concerts and orchestral events, to ceremonies and other special events. It has also been used to record music albums.
A feat of calculated risk and remarkable bravery following the 1929 Wall Street Crash, philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, Jr. managed to build an entire complex of buildings on the property that would attract top commercial clients and help salvage the depressed economy of the area. Part of the Rockafeller Center, Radio City Music Hall opened in 1932 and remains to this day an enduring icon that stands testament to the American Dream in the face of adversity. The Radio Corporation of America was one of those original tenants, leading to the name Radio City staying until this day, and is a worldwide attraction, staging huge music concerts, and of course acting as the home of the illustrious Rockettes.
