Special Musical Guests Galore

50 years ago Otis redding's life was cut tragically short when he was killed in an plane crash. 1967 also saw the release of the song which would solidify his legacy, and go onto become the first posthumous Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, '(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay'.

In tribute to the iconic singer, Apollo Theater presents this very special concert, hosted by EGOT winner Whoopi Goldberg. Among the artists who will be covering cuts from throughout Otis' career are Sharon Jones' trusty backing band The Dap-Kings, alongside a slew of special musical guests and other performers yet to be announced. It promises to be an incredible evening in honor of an incredible performer.
