Catch Of The Day

Catch Of The Day at 59E59 Theater

Why see Catch Of The Day?

Ridiculous But True Story

From Anglo-Irish purveyors of "Chaos Theatre" Red Fox Theatre comes Catch of the Day, running Off-Broadway at 59 East 59th Street Theatres. A hilariously funny play set in 1960s Ireland, the play builds upon the company's ethos of telling stories with complex themes in the most engaging ways free of constraints. The production is directed by Megan Jenkins and stars company members Anna McCormick, Ben Simon, Callum McGuire and Jonty Weston.

What Is It About?

Using comedy theatre to tell a real tale from Anglo-Irish history, Catch of the Day is set in a pub in Dingle Bay in 1966, where a fisherman's unusual catch somehow sparks raucous hi-jinx involving Irish President Eamon De Valera, Queen Elizabeth of Britain and more nuns than you can shake your rosary beads at. Featuring live Irish trad-folk musicRed Fox Theatre breaks down Anglo-Irish political history in ridiculously funny style.
