Adapted from one of Tom Hank's short stories published in 2017, the cast for This World of Tomorrow has been announced for its upcoming run in New York.
Running from October 30 through December 21, the new play will take the stage at Griffin Theater. The show will open to the public on November 18.
Alongside Hanks, This World of Tomorrow will star Kelli O'Hara, Kerry Bish, Kayli Carter, Paul Murphy, Jamie Ann Romero, Lee Aaron Rosen, Jay O. Sanders, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Donald Webber Jr., and Michelle Wilson.
Co-written by Hanks with James Glossman and directed by Kenny Leon, this world premiere will see the Forrest Gump actor take on the role of a future scientist who travels back in time to the 1939 World's Fair. His first New York stage appearance since his Broadway debut in 2013's Lucky Boy, don't miss your chance to see the peerless Hanks live Off-Broadway!
Commenting on this exciting new venture, Tom said: "To explore the themes of love and yearning, and the struggles of today as we carry with us the eternal memories of the past, in such a place as The Shed, strikes me as a one-of-a-kind experience not unlike the World's Fair of 1939."
