Actors' Equity has shaken things up by hiring a new team of public health specialists to help manage their responses to the pandemic. This will include safety protocols for actors, crew members, front-of-house staff and the venues themselves.
Currently, all 41 Broadway venues are in agreement over the basic safety requirements for audiences attending shows and all theatre staff. These rules are planned to be in place until end April 2022 at the earliest. This includes:
- all staff and audience members must have ben vaccinated
- vaccination proof must provided to you by the healthcare provider who administered the vaccine
- masks are to be worn by audience members whilst inside the theatre
Whether or not these rules will be relaxed even further over the summer remains to br seen. However, with most domestic and international travel rules starting to relax, it might finally be time to book that trip out toe NYC to see a Broadway show!
