Greg Kinnear To Join To Kill A Mockingbird

The Oscar nominee joins the Tony-nominated hit!

Oscar nominee Greg Kinnear will make his Broadway debut this April as he stars as Atticus Finch in Aaron Sorkin's critically acclaimed production of To Kill A Mockingbird.

Kinnear will take over from current star Ed Harris from April 21, with Harris playing his final performance on April 18.

Although this is Kinnear's Broadway debut his prolific screen credits include his Oscar-nominated turn in As Good as it Gets and Emmy-nominated performances in The Kennedy's and Modern Family. He's also starred in Little Miss Sunshine, You've Got Mail and Flash of Genius.

What is To Kill A Mockingbird about?

Told through the eyes of 13-year-old Scout, Mockingbird is set in the pre-civil rights era Deep South of the 1930s. When local black man Tom Robinson is accused of raping a white girl, Scout's lawyer father Atticus Finch takes on the case, determined to try and give Tom a fair trial. With his decision to defend Tom, Atticus finds himself ostracised from the community, and the lives of his family put into danger. As the trial approaches, Atticus must choose whether to buckle under the mounting pressure or to stand his ground and fight for what is right.

To Kill A Mockingbird is now playing at the Shubert Theatre.
