Spare Parts

Fascinating and chilling
Why see Spare Parts?
The Price of Immortality
Spare Parts is a new play by biomedical scientist and playwright David J. Glass, following his previous work Love + Science which received acclaim in the New York Times. A funny yet unnerving rumination on how ambitions, combined with scientific breakthroughs, can blur the boundaries of what's ethical and who we are as humans, a cast led by two-time Tony Award nominee Rob McClure (Chaplin; Mrs. Doubtfire) under the direction of Michael Herwitz brings this play to Theatre Row this year.
What Is It About?
A wealthy patron's fixation on extending human life to the point of immortality leads him to fund an experimental anti-aging research project. But what begins as an exploration of innovation gradually reveals darker implications, forcing us to confront questions of autonomy, exploitation and what being human being really means.
