Tom Hanks returns to the New York stage in this Off-Broadway World Premiere!
Two-time Academy Award winner and all-around treasure Tom Hanks returns to the New York stage, starring in this time-traveling adventure based on his 2017 short story collection. Co-written by Hanks with James Glossman and directed by Kenny Leon, this world premiere will see the Forrest Gump actor take on the role of a future scientist who travels back in time to the 1939 World's Fair. His first New York stage appearance since his Broadway debut in 2013's Lucky Boy, don't miss your chance to see the peerless Hanks live Off-Broadway!
Commenting on this exciting new venture, Tom said: "To explore the themes of love and yearning, and the struggles of today as we carry with us the eternal memories of the past, in such a place as The Shed, strikes me as a one-of-a-kind experience not unlike the World's Fair of 1939." You said it best, Hanks!
Forrest Gump, Castaway, Toy Story, Saving Private Ryan, You've Got Mail, The Phoenician Scheme and many many more, Hanks has carved out a career of unforgettable silver screen performances, making him one of the globe's most beloved and recognized faces. In addition to his award-winning acting work, he's a busy author, with his latest book, The Making of a Major Motion Picture, released in 2023.
