Meet David Copperfield!

Starring Bobby Conte as David Copperfield!

Discover David Copperfield in a whole new way on this Dickensian adventure, as the beloved literary classic gets a sweeping musical adaptation featuring a book, music and lyrics by Jeffrey Scharf, with direction and choreography by Gabriel Barre (Amazing Grace, Pippin). First published in 1850, David Copperfield remains one of Dickens' most cherished works. Partly inspired by Dickens' own life, it is often considered a bridge between his stories of youth and those of maturity.

What's The Story?

Meet David Copperfield: a young boy who suffers more than his share of hardship, from a harsh childhood at the callous hands of his stepfather, Murdstone, to the horrors of a London sweatshop. As he matures, his world expands into new friendships, love, adventure and success – but also heartbreak, betrayal and devastating loss.

Along the way, he encounters a host of colourful characters, including his formidable Aunt Betsey Trotwood and the wonderfully eccentric Mr. Micawber, the loyal Peggotty family, gentle Agnes Wickfield and charming but reckless Steerforth. And then there is the two-faced Uriah Heep, whose machinations threaten to turn David's world upside down!

Through every twist and turn, David must discover who he really is and what kind of man he wants to become.
