70th Birthday Concert

Grammy-winning jazz and blues singer Catherine Russell celebrates the occasion of her 70th birthday with an extraordinary concert, performing the music that has defined her and featuring a guest appearance from none other than Cyndi Lauper! From touring with Steely Dan and David Bowie, to eventually launching a critically acclaimed, award-winning solo career, Russell has given so much to music, and leaves a legacy fitting of the line of jazz stars she is from (her father led the band that backed Louis Armstrong, and her mother was a member of the 1940s swing and jazz icons International Sweethearts of Rhythm). Across nine solo albums and many, many, many more as a backing vocalist, Russell has proved her worth as a mainstay in her generation of music.

And as if her talent was not enough for you, her special guest Cyndi Lauper is yet another generational talent, having sold over 50 million of her own records and garnered 14 Grammy nominations during a career spanning decades! That's an average of one and a half million record sales annually. And to add to that, she is also now a Tony and Olivier Award winner, thanks to her musical theater success on the Great White Way and beyond. Enjoy a set of stunning music from one of the best around in this special celebratory concert.
