Stage and screen star Carey Mulligan gives a powerhouse performance!
Following her critically-acclaimed performance in the West End debut of Tony Award-winning writer Dennis Kelly's Girls and Boys, stage and screen luminary Carey Mulligan brings the tour-de-force one woman show to New York's Minetta Theater for a strictly limited five week run this Summer. Critics praised Mulligan for her no-holds-barred, phenomenal solo performance as a young mother undergoing a series of harrowing awakenings, charting her unsettling journey with a thought-provoking, rollercoaster of a monologue.
Mulligan portrays an unnamed woman, who begins her tale by regaling the audience with portraits from her seemingly ordinary, pastoral life. Having met her husband at an airport and embarked on a whirlwind romance that yielded a marriage, a house and two children, Mulligan's quick-witted portrayals and deft sense of timing mark her as a raconteur extraordinaire. Yet a sense of aggression slowly makes its way to the surface of her performance, suggesting that all may not be as it seems in this perfect world...
