Carey Mulligan delivers the performance of her career
Off Broadway transfer of Girls & Boys wows the critics
Carey Mulligan has seemingly cemented her place amongst the theatrical greats of the 21st Century with a powerhouse performance in this gripping one-woman by Denis Kelly. After stunning over at London's Royal Court Theatre, the show opened at the Minetta Lane Theatre this week to equally as radiant reviews.
A monologue that stems from a chance meeting at an airport, Girls & Boys is a deft exploration of relationships that is both hilarious and utterly intoxicating. The New York Times' Ben Brantley enthused of Mulligan's performance: 'one of the most compelling stage actresses of her generation. For more than 100 uninterrupted minutes of Denis Kelly's Girls & Boys...you are unconditionally hers.', with The Daily News adding 'words couldn't truly capture how thrilling, shattering and simply phenomenal Mulligan is. Seeing is believing.'
Congratulations, Carey! Don't miss this surefire summertime highlight, now playing through July 22
