Acclaimed theater maker Caroline Guiela Nguyen transforms Brooklyn Academy of Music with new play
Critically acclaimed writer-director Caroline Guiela Nguyen brings her enthralling new play to the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Harvey Lichtenstein Theater stage this Fall. Telling a revealing story of the brutal world of haute couture, Lacrima is an engrossing tale of chasing perfection. Performances are strictly limited across just four days this October, so don't miss out.
Paris - the beating heart of the fashion world. One haute couture fashion house receives a once-in-a-lifetime commission: make the wedding dress for the Princess of England. So begins an eight-month labour that crosses continents, in order to craft the perfect dress. From the hard-worked head seamstress of the fashion house, to the lacemaker dealing with her past, to an Indian embroiderer striving to complete the job before his eyesight gives out, Lacrima tells a tale of the cost of achieving perfection, and the strain of fashion on ordinary people.
