What's the Story?

Pre-Existing Condition follows a woman known only as 'A' as she tries to piece her life back together after escaping a relationship marked by abuse. As she navigates doctor's appointments, awkward conversations, legal hurdles, and the harsh realities of starting over, she discovers unexpected moments of kindness, connection, and hope from the people who enter her life.

The role of 'A' is shared by Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o, Tony and Emmy Award nominee Phillipa Soo, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Edie Falco, and Hari Nef, with each performer taking on different chapters of the character's journey. They're joined by returning cast members Dael Orlandersmith, Sarah Steele, and Greg Keller, reprising their acclaimed performances from the original production.
