New York Philharmonic - Beethoven and Also sprach Zarathustra
An epic evening with the NY Phil!
We are an independent show guide. Resale ticket prices may be above face value.
Conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen
Join the New York Philharmonic for an out of this world evening headlined by Strauss's seminal Also sprach Zarathustra, forever enshrined in the public conscious after it became the theme of Stanley Kubrick's sci-fi epic, 2001: A Space Odessey. First performed in 1896, the magnificent drama of the piece leads to a crashing crescendo that will leave you with goosebumps, no matter how many times you experience it.
Alongside the above the program will also include a recital of Beethoven's Leonore Oveture No.2 from his heroic opera Fidelio and a U.S Premiere from the avant garde British composer Tansy Davies.
