Tony Award nominee Ethan Slater (Wicked, Spongebob Squarepants) co-writes and stars in this powerful new play, premiering at the Classic Stage Company in February 2026. Diving into legendary mime Marcel Marceau's time as a young man in Nazi-occupied France, Marcel On The Train is a tale of resistance and true courage in the face of tyranny.
Marcel Marceau was not well-known for being loud - conquering the world as one of the greatest ever mime artists. But as a young man, he showed that being quiet doesn't always mean staying silent. Living under Nazi occupation in France during the Second World War, Marcel decided to take action. Using his creativity and imagination to smuggle Jewish children away from danger, Marcel sparked an incredible act of resistance, and showed himself as a man far more extraordinary than his muted exterior.
