Fresh from a smash hit run at the Public Theatre, Jordan E. Cooper's new play is now playing at the Belasco Theatre. Embarking on a journey of epic proportions, Ain't No Mo is a mile-high octane comedy that imagines a transatlantic repatriation attempt by the U.S. government - sending Black Americans into the skies and back to Africa. Through a series of hilarious episodes, Cooper's slick satire finds the humor and the heart of the endeavor, incorporating sketch, Avant-Garde, and drag to tell his mischievous tale.
Full of vivid characters, sparkling set design (courtesy of Kimie Nishiwaka), and a tantalizing script Ain't No Mo' explores the value of Black lives in a country in racial turmoil. Stevie Walker-Webb directs this emotionally charged and vibrant season highlight.
