Robno, Poland, 1933. With just two performers, this touching true family story brings a deeply personal chapter of history to life, set in a world on the cusp of change. What's The Story?
In 1933, Charlie - a Polish-born Jewish immigrant - returns to Rivne after a decade in America, hoping to find a wife in the town he once called home. As he wanders familiar streets, one person captures his attention: a striking young woman working in a local hat shop.
Chava has never left Rovno and dreams not of marriage, but of scholarship and study. As Charlie courts her with blintzes and evenings of dancing, she holds fast to her ambitions, even as the shadow of rising antisemitism begins to darken Europe's horizon.
