This coming-of-age tale by Charles Dickens gets an epic adaptation in New York, fresh from a sold-out London run!  Described as “the triumph of Dickens’s art”, David Copperfield draws on the early experiences of the author himself - and this Guilford Shakespeare Company production features three actors who play more than twenty roles!

What’s The Story?

The show follows David’s journey through the world as he meets a wide cast of characters along the way - charming rogues,    manipulative scoundrels, and the people who help or hinder him as he grows from an uncertain childhood to literary success in Victorian England.

Did You Know?

In the original novel, Dickens critiques various elements of Victorian society,  including the treatment of prostitutes, women’s position within marriage, the class system, the legal and criminal justice systems, the use of child labour in factories, and so much more!
