The Cast Of Hadestown

Stepping into this mythic love story are Joshua Colley as Orpheus, Gary Dourdan as Hades, J. Harrison Ghee as Hermes, Gaby Moreno as Persephone, and Jordan Tyson as Eurydice. The new company begins performances March 3, bringing a whole new energy to Anas Mitchell's Tony-winning phenomenon.

They'll be taking over from the current Broadway cast, who play their final performances March 1: Morgan Dudley (Eurydice), Kurt Elling (Hermes), Allison Russell (Persephone), Tony winner Paulo Szot (Hades), and Jack Wolfe (Orpheus).

What's The Story?

Hadestown is a folk- and jazz-infused retelling of two Greek myths: Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone.

When young dreamer Orpheus falls in love with Eurydice, he believes his music can build a better world. But when hardship drives Eurydice to the industrial underworld ruled by Hades, Orpheus journeys below to win her back. As the gods' troubled marriage mirrors the lovers' fate, the story becomes one of sacrifice and hope.
