As the run continues, SNL's Chloe Fineman will take over from January 2 to January 12, 2025. And with more cast members yet to be announced, expect some exciting surprises to come!
Simon Rich's New Yorker Gems
Quirky, offbeat and often absurd, Simon Rich's short stories (many of which first appeared in The New Yorker) are known for taking everyday situations and turning them onto their head. For example, Unprotextged tells the story of a neglected condom left in a teenager's wallet, In another, Sell Out, an ancestor is resurrected and struggles to understand how modern life has "softened" his descendants.
A former writer for Saturday Night Live and one of the youngest ever to join the staff, Rich has a knack for transforming life's most awkward moments - think dating, heartbreak, and marriage - into laugh-out-loud tales that resonate with readers.
