The Winners for the 2024 Tony Awards Have Been Announced!

Broadway's brightest stars gathered at the 2024 Tony Awards for a night of celebration and recognition

From new productions to classics reborn, the 77th annual Tony Awards was a night to remember and well-deserved for all involved! Held at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater in New York City on June 16, 2024, and hosted by the ever-charismatic Ariana DeBose, the 77th annual awards celebrated Broadway's finest talents and was broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+. Let's take a look at the night's big winners!

The Highlights Of The Night

Stereophonic won the most awards of the night and the most for a play. Including Best New Play, while Will Brill won Best Actor in a Play. Best Direction of a Play went to Daniel Aukin, Best Scenic Design of a Play was awarded to David Zinn, and Best Sound Design of a Play went to Ryan Rumery.

The Outsiders emerged victorious as Best Musical, marking a significant win for its producers, including Angelina Jolie. It also took home three more Tony Awards, including Best Direction of a Musical, Best Sound Design of a Musical, and Best Lighting Design of a Musical.

For revivals, Merrily We Roll Along took home the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical, with its star Jonathan Groff winning Best Leading Actor in a Musical and Daniel Radcliffe winning Best Featured Actor in a Musical, marking the pair's first Tony Awards for their outstanding performances. The award for Best Orchestration went to Jonathan Tunick.

Celebrating Lifetime Contributions

The night also honored the legacies of Jack O'Brien and George C. Wolfe, who received the 2024 Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. Furthermore, Billy Porter was recognized with the 2024 Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award for his passionate activism and contributions to the LGBTQ+ community.
