At the age of 79, the legendary singer and composer won his first Emmy Award at the 2024 Los Angeles ceremony, which when added to his other prestigious accolades (which includes a Grammy and an Oscar), makes him the 19th person to achieve EGOT status. Now that's a career that's still standing!
John won the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for Elton John: Farewell From Dodger Stadium. The film event celebrated his last North American Concert and the first global live stream on Disney+.

Aside from his chart-topping music career, Elton has enjoyed a long and successful career in theater, his credits include roles in Tammy Faye and Lestat, as well as adapting Billy Elliot and The Lion King for the stage. His most recent project is a theatrical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada, which will premiere in the UK on July 617, 2024, at Theatre Royal Plymouth, before moving to the West End on October 24.
