Having only just opened, J.K Rowling and Jack Thorne's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child managed to sweep up TEN Tony nominations. With nominations including Best Play and Best Direction of a Play for John Tiffany as well as Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for Jamie Parker, the production managed to grab some of the biggest nominations of the day.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child's other nominations include Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for Anthony Boyle and Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for Noma Dumezweni.
The play also picked up nominations for Best Scenic Design of a Play, Best Costume Design of a Play, Best Lighting Design of a Play, Best Sound Design of a Play, Best Scenic Design of a Play and Best Choreography.
