Mary Chapin Carpenter was one of Country's most recognizable voices throughout the 1990s, racking up hits with tracks like Passionate Kisses and Down at the Twist and Shout. In recent years, her songwriting has taken a more mature course and she's set herself to tackle current social and political issues, from Hurricane Katrina to September 11.

An American institution, The Moth is devoted to the art of storytelling. A non-profit group, founded in 1997 by George Dawes Green, The Moth holds regular literary events across the country, shows which feature ordinary people and celebrities alone on stage, simply telling a real-life story. Since its launch, The Moth has added several arms to its empire, including a podcast and a radio show, but nothing can compare to seeing one of these events live.

November 29 - December 1, 2019

Joined by students from the Princeton Ballet School, the American Repertory Ballet's production of The Nutcracker is a delightful family evening for audiences young and old, and a wonderful way to ring in Christmas. Going strong for over 50 years since its first season in 1964, this New Jersey holiday tradition features a cast of over 100 performers, as well as fresh new scenery in its opening act. Directed by Douglas Martin, this long-running holiday production has garnered favorable reviews, and is one of the most successful companies in the region.

December 10 - 29, 2019

An integral part of McCarter's theater season every year, A Christmas Carol is the definitive holiday show for all the family. Based on the book by Charles Dickens, this celebration of humanity and openheartedness follows the story of Ebeneezer Scrooge, a cranky, penny-pinching businessman who's taught the true meaning of Christmas by three spirits - the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future - who visit him on Christmas Eve.

Spend an insightful and hysterically funny evening in the company of celebrated American writer, comedian and satirist Andy Borowitz. Audiences have the chance to gain a behind-the-scenes look into the life of a luminary that brought us not only The Fresh Prince of Belair but the award-winning New Yorker column The Borowitz Report, a wide reaching political platform.
