Why See Beck and Phoenix?

Indie & RockConcerts

Summer odyssey

Teaming up for the Summer Odyessy Tour, alternative king Beck and French legends Phoenix will bring you a co-headlining show made in indie heaven this year! With support from Japanese Breakfast, Jenny Lewis, and Weyes Blood, expect a festival-like experience as they take the show to multiple outdoor venues, kicking off in Seattle!

Beck

Beck's music first emerged in the early 1990s, with his anthemic 'Loser' rocketing him to star status in a matter of weeks from his struggling artist roots. Along with that came a bidding war from record labels and, of course, talk that he'd forsaken his anti-folk roots for the easy life of being a music label's creation. Beck's fifth album, Odelay (1996), proved that to be very wrong and won two Grammy awards.

Twenty years and myriad albums later, Beck is still seen as one of the leading singer-songwriters of our time. Though he has evolved as an artist and refined his artistic interests over the years, his music continues to draw from an eclectic mix of influences and sampling and has the same clever, often self-referential lyrics he first became loved for. You'd be a Loser to miss this legend of anti-folk and hugely talented multi-instrumentalist perform live.

Phoenix

Originally hailing from Versailles, Phoenix have been diligently enchanting fans with their unique blend of infectious licks and confessional lyrics since 2000 when their debut record United brought them to the attention of Sofia Coppola who featured the song 'Too Young' in her movie Lost in Translation. The rest as they say, is history.

Since then they have seen mainstream success with tunes such as 'Everything is Everything', 'If I Ever Feel Better' and 'Lisztomania' hitting alternative charts around the globe and being featured in everything from tv shows to perfume ads. The watchword in style, a Phoenix show is an electrifying experience and not one to miss.
