Rouvali conducts magnificently
New York Philharmonic Orchestra take us on a profound exploration of life's stages under the baton of Santtu-Matias Rouvali. The program opens with Julia Wolfe's dynamic Fountain of Youth, offering all the energy youth provides. Soprano Miah Persson lends her emotive vocals to Richard Strauss's introspective Four Last Songs, the composer's reflection on life's passage with poignant depth. The evening reaches its pinnacle with Jean Sibelius's grand Fifth Symphony, commissioned to mark his 50th birthday.
Rouvali direction promises a stirring interpretation of these works, guiding audiences through the music's vitality, contemplation and triumph.
