The New York Philharmonic Orchestra are joined by luminary pianist Conrad Tao for a hair-raising programme featuring the brilliance of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 17 and a showstopping recital of Beethoven's unforgettable Fifth Symphony. Mendelssohn's fabulous Hebrides Overture will also be aired, the composer's tone poem tribute to those beautiful Scottish islands.
Tao's talent as a young pianist is remarkable, especially given that he began as a violinist. The countless award and competition-winning artist has toured the globe and brings flair to Mozart's concerto, a riveting conversation between the piano and the rest of the orchestra. Closing the concert, Beethoven's Fifth is hair-raising piece known and loved by pretty much everyone, even those who've never in their life set foot in a concert hall. Let yourself be transported into an epic world of outstanding melody and thrilling creativity from those fateful first four bars!
