A Brand New Bioplay About Feminist Icon Gloria Steinem
At the forefront of the feminist movement since the 60s, best-selling author and political activist Gloria Steinem has spent the decades campaigning and advocating gender, social and racial equality, non-violent conflict resolution, the preservation of the culture of indigenous peoples and peace across the world. Now the inspiring woman's legacy is explored and celebrated in a brand new Off-Broadway play about her extraordinary life during a strictly limited run at the Daryl Roth Theater this Fall.
Starring Christine Lahti and written by multi award-winning American playwright Emily Mann, with direction by Tony winner Diane Paulus and brought to life by an all-female creative and all-female producing team, Gloria: A Life will have an unusual structure. Act one will detail Steinem's life as a feminist activist and writer, whilst Act two opens the floor to a 'talking circle' where a moderator invites the audience to an share their own stories and make connections.
