Now playing at the Daryl Roth Theater

The brand new bio-play about Gloria Steinem opened on Thursday night at the Daryl Roth Theater. But what did the critics think of this unique take on traditional performance?

The overall response was highly positive with Vulture saying 'For some, 'Gloria: A Life' might be a visit to an old friend, a love letter, and affirmation, a manifesto, an encouragement of catalyzation or catharsis. It's all these things and it's also a lesson.'

The Hollywood Reporter said that 'Lahti gives an affecting, calmly determined portrayal; it's hard to think of a better guide than this particular actor through the life of someone who has embodied the fight for women's rights for half a century'.

Vogue said that ''Gloria: A Life' offers an experience that promises to be a more intimate recollection of Steinem's journey', with DC Theatre Scene calling it a 'moving, enlightening, and inspiring show'.

What is Gloria: A Life about?

At the forefront of the feminist movement since the 60s, best-selling author and political activist Gloria Steinem has spent the decades campaigning and advocating gender, social and racial equality, non-violent conflict resolution, the preservation of the culture of indigenous peoples and peace across the world. Now the inspiring woman's legacy is explored and celebrated in a brand new Off-Broadway play about her extraordinary life during a strictly limited run at the Daryl Roth Theater this Fall.

Gloria: A Life is now playing at the Daryl Roth Theater through to January 27.
