Amelie

Why see Amelie?

AmeliE finally makes her Broadway appearance!

Back in 2001, the world fell in love with Amelie. The lead character in Jean Piere Jeunet's wildly imaginative film of the same name, she gadded about her very own Paris, falling in love and helping others in a uniquely charming way. Now 16 years later, Amelie comes to the stage in this glorious new adaptation from Craig Lucas, Daniel Messe and Pam Mackinnon. Bubbling with mischievous joy and heart, this coming of age tale is likely to be a treat for all ages.

Premiering in August 2015 at Berkley Rep with Les Miserables star Samantha Barks as the titular ingenue, Amelie won rave reviews for its crackling wit and charm as the films original breathtaking cinematography is translated to the stage with simple but stunning sets, beautiful folk inspired music by Daniel Messe and even puppetry! Taking on the lead role for this production is the Tony-nominated Phillipa Soo (Hamilton).

The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain

Amelie is the story of a young woman who has built a whole imaginary world around her to deal with her loneliness, being the only child of eccentric and over protective parents. When she leaves home to become a waitress, her fantasies are projected onto the streets of Paris as she sets about touching peoples lives with her sweet, but sometimes misguided schemes.

One day she discovers a mysterious photo album and the resulting adventure changes her life forever!
