Only Human

Only Human at The Theatre at St. Clement's

Why see Only Human?

A Brand New Musical Of Biblical Proportions

Following a creative process including an Oklahoma City University-industry presentation in late 2018, Mike Squillante's propulsive pop-rock musical Only Human enjoys its Off-Broadway premiere at New York City's Theatre at St. Clements this fall starring none other than Gary Busey! Featuring upbeat music and lyrics by well known musician Squillante, a book by up and coming playwright Jess Carson and direction by Columbia School of the Arts graduate NJ Agwuna, the brand new tuner is billed as a "sinfully good time": that'll leave audiences feeling "hashtag blessed".

Rock and roll meets the Bible in a brand new retelling of the fall of Lucifer. Suited and ready to work at creating heaven in God's own vision, the angels are led by Lou, a smooth-talking charmer and coincidentally God's favorite. Lou is constantly at odds with his co-worker Jesus, but when their creative differences come to a head, all hell breaks loose...

Although Mr Busey is an icon he is not a broadway singer like Mr West is and the two shows differ because of it. One offers a quirky fun aspect while the other a harmonious battle of good and evil. This is not a show for a seasoned theatre goer but instead for an up and coming edgy audience. It’s a shame the run was cut short- People should see a show and decide for themselves because not everyone has the same taste. ... Read more
