Zack

A brilliantly rewarding story
Why see Zack?
one of Northern England's Greatest!
Mint Theater Company stages this underdog tale by one of Englands most brilliant yet under-appreciated pre-war playwrights. Harold Brighouse is better known in North America for his 1915 play Hobson's Choice which premiered in New York and eventually inspired the Broadway musical Walking Happy, but his 1920 work Zack is a true hidden gem, a one-act piece known as one of the writer's greatest works. Directed by Britt Berke, don't miss this Off-Broadway production.
What is the Story?
Zack is a kind-natured young man, whose naivete and lack of guile make him an easy target for exploitation. His calculating mother and ruthless brother attempt to do just this, both determined to improve their standing with a wealthy family member. Despite his vulnerability, Zack is a tale of decency being rewarded over cynicism, an underdog story with a hopeful message in which goodwill prevails.
