Eschewing modern digital recording techniques in favour of old school analog technology, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings' soul-funk sounds like it's been beamed straight in from the 1970s. It's a heady sound which has won them a lot of famous fans and collaborations with the likes of Mark Ronson and David Bryne. The band are currently in the middle of their biggest tour yet, in support of their fifth long player Give the People What They Want.
