who is Madeleine Peyroux?

American jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux's journey began in Athens, GA, but by the age of 13 she was living in Paris with her mother, where she learnt to play the ukulele and began busking on the streets of the Latin Quarter, before touring Europe with a vintage jazz group.  She burst onto the recording scene in 1996 and continues to release original material alongside classic jazz standards, collaborating with the likes of Walter Becker, Joe Henry, David Batteau and Julian Corywell.
