Certified country music legend Loretta Lynn has enjoyed quite a renaissance in the past decade. It began with 2004's album Van Lear Rose, which was produced by and heavily featured the unmistakable guitar tones of Jack White, whose involvement in the project brought the veteran to the attention of a whole new audience. Since then she's had a tribute album dedicated to her, featuring the likes of Carrie Underwood, Paramore and Lynn herself, duetting with Sheryl Crow and Miranda Lambert on a new version of her signature tune Coal Miner's Daughter.
With over 60 albums, millions of sales and four Grammys to her name, Lynn is undoubtedly one of the greats of American music, and a hugely influential figure with her frank and controversial lyricism, which explores subjects ranging from sexual politics to gender equality.
