You have to go see WISHFUL DRINKING

WISHFUL DRINKING is one of the funniest shows to hit Broadway in ages. Well, maybe not as far back (forward?) as STAR WARS, but you get the idea. Carrie Fisher is brilliant, both in her writing and her performance. In addition to laughing until your teeth fall out, you'll learn about the time Carrie was a shampoo bottle and a blow-up doll, you'll find out about the complicated marital musical chairs called Hollywood Couples and get some insight into Tinseltown mother-daughter relationships, going back to Debbie Reynolds and her mom, then Carrie and her daughter. You'll also learn about her hot-cold marriage with Paul Simon and the songs he wrote about her, and not while he was still in love. In short, you will have a real blast and can even see some blast-off footage from Star Wars. Go buy your tickets RIGHT NOW. ... Read more

She was meant for Broadway. Hilarious and touching.

Went with friends to a preview and was blown away. She's a great story teller - I thought as much having enjoyed her books - but didn't know if it would translate to a one-woman show, live, on a big Broadway stage. It does. You will be totally enthralled. It is smartly directed, smoothly performed, and amazing. The props are even funny! You cannot believe how f-ed up a family can be until you listen to her stories. She tells them with complete honesty and a great, infectious sense of humor. Go and you will have a great, great time. ... Read more

Trip over yourself to get to this show!

My friends and I laughed so much I thought we were going to literally fall on the floor, except the seats are too close to do that, so we just supported each other in our merriment. This is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen (and I see a LOT). Carrie has a way to revealing herself in surprising ways that me you smile and chuckle and admire her cleverness, all at the same time. We went with a group of people, ages 23-80 and everyone had a blast. I thought the younger ones might not enjoy it as much, but they did! They talked about it for days. The audience was laughing so much that I went back a second night in order to catch some of the lines I missed. It was so overwhelmingly entertaining that I'll go back a third time. DON'T MISS THIS AWESOME PERFORMANCE by the former Princess Leia and Pez Dispenser (You'll learn about all that at the show). ... Read more
