Emerging out of the ashes of Joy Division, New Order were instrumental in the progression of alternative rock during the 80s. Their marrying of post-punk and electronic dance music, maybe best showcased in their monster hit Blue Monday, was hugely influential and set the ground for the baggy scene of 90s in the UK, which would itself birth Britpop. With over nine studio albums the New Order has created their own legacy!
