Why see the ripple, the wave that carried me home?

New Work From Tony Nominee

Tony-nominated playwright Christina Anderson (Good Goods, Paradise Square) and director Tiffany Nichole Greene bring a moving portrait of the price of justice to the stage, in The Ripple, The Wave That Carried Me Home. A stellar four-person cast of Marinda Anderson, Alana Raquel Bowers, Biko Eisen-Martin, and Crystal Lucas-Perry performs this confronting story, exploring how generations of a family are shaped by the weight on the shoulders of those involved in historical movements. Critically lauded for the profound work she produces, don’t miss this stunning new entry in Christina Anderson’s exquisite canon.

What Is The Story?

Flipping between Kansas in the ‘60s and Janice’s present day thirty years later, we discover how Janice’s childhood was defined by her parents activism in the fight for integrated local public swimming pools. Decades later, having built a life removed from her family’s fight, Janice is to speak at an event honoring her father. Forced to revisit the memories she tried to escape from, she must confront the price of social change and the painful path toward forgiveness.
