Eifman Ballet Of St. Petersburg: Up And Down

Eifman Ballet Of St. Petersburg: Up And Down at New York City Center Mainstage

Why see Eifman Ballet Of St. Petersburg: Up And Down?

The Eifman Ballet returns.

(Please note, this event was previously called 'Tender is the Night'.)

Russia's Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg present a new show from the prolific Boris Eifman, continuing his series of ballets representing psychiatric themes. Up and Down is the intense story of a couple, whose romance is troubled by the shadow of mental illness and destructive personalities clashing against the backdrop of the gilded decade of the Roaring 20's.

Set to a score including music from Berg, Shubert and Gershwin, Up and Down is the new concept for the previous listed show, as Boris Eifman's attention to detail and dedication to mastery is such that he renamed the production to fit with his creative vision.

Founded in 1977, the Eifman is dedicated to continuing to create new works that are experimental and push the boundaries of the language of dance.
