About The Show
On July 10, it all starts with Reasonable Doubt - released in 1996, it marked the arrival of Jay-Z. Dropped through his own Roc-A-Fella Records, the album paired cinematic production from DJ Premier and Clark Kent with guest spots from Mary J. Blige and The Notorious B.I.G. It debuted at No. 23 on the Billboard 200, but its impact has only grown, eventually going platinum and earning its place as one of hip-hop's greatest records.
Then, on July 11, the focus shifts to The Blueprint - released in 2001, it saw Jay-Z step into a new era, trading darker tones for a warmer, soul-sampled style. Production came from a then-rising Kanye West, Just Blaze, and Bink, with contributions from Timbaland and a lone feature from Eminem. Debuting at No. 1 with over 400,000 copies sold in its first week, it held the top spot for three weeks and has since gone multi-platinum.
