Desperate Measures

Desperate Measures at Stage 4 New World Stages

Why see Desperate Measures?

Saddle up & see!

Giddy up and head on down to the New World Stages for this hilarious new romp that transplants Shakespeare's moral comedy from ancient Vienna to the Old West. With book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg and music from David Friedman, enjoy a toe-tapping, rootin' tooting score as the fate of our handsome hero, Johnny Blood, hangs in the balance.

Alongside Johnny, a cast of zany characters join Johnny's cause including his pious sister, a corrupt Governor, a strange sheriff, an ex-Showgirl and an eccentric priest, leading to a classic Shakespearean comedy of confusion, silliness and of course - good old fashioned romance!

Definitely Worth Seeing

If you enjoy laughing, good music, and great acting this is a good pick the next time you want ti take in a show. I have seen better, but this was close to the top of my list. The theater is a good size for great seating through out. It had a cute story line, easy to follow, and just down right entertaining. Not a show for children, but all ages beyond can enjoy. Talented cast brought the story to life, not a dull moment through out. The ticket price was very affordable and would rate it 4.5 if I could. I would recommend this show. and feel confident that others would enjoy it as we did. ... Read more
