RENT returns to NYC after its three-year hiatus, with refreshed choreography and direction.
Returning to NYC after its groundbreaking 12-year Broadway run, RENT, set in NYC's East Village, is a modern take on the classic Puccini opera, La Boheme. It tells the unforgettable story of a group of young artists learning to survive, falling in love, finding their voices and living for today.
Director Greif (Next to Normal) has engaged a new choreographer, a new set designer, a new lighting designer, a new projection designer and others to reinvent Rent (without changing a word, except that the opening line now makes clear that the show's period is 1991-92 rather than circa 1995).
