The Monsters

Why see The Monsters?

Fighters' Reunion

The award-winning playwright and performer Ngozi Anyanwu (Homecoming Queen, Good Grief) brings The Monsters for its New York premiere, directed by Ngozi herself. A story about the love that exists between siblings obsessed with the thrill of mixed martial arts, the play is set to be a knockout at the New York City Center.

What Is It About?

Monsters follows siblings Lil and Big. Big was once a feared and admired name in the local MMA scene fighting his battles in the ring. Lil, on the other hand, estranged from Big, has fought hers in silence, tracking her brother's every move from a distance. When Lil shows up unannounced at Big's door, years of estrangement make way for the stormy seas of an attempt at reunion and the long-suppressed questions that kept them apart.
